The grand opening for the new Niceville Walmart is scheduled for 7:30 am January 26th. This 153,283 square foot location will offer a full grocery, bakery, deli, vision center and Connect Center. The Walmart location currently under construction on Hwy 98 in Santa Rosa Beach is running on schedule and is expected to open in June. This smaller 78,290 square foot location will not be be a Supercenter.
Tuesday, January 19, 2011 Vision Airlines formally announced their decision to use NWF Regional Airport as its base for commercial fights to and from 19 cities. The regional economic impact expected to include 4,200 jobs and $160 million in revenue. New flights starting 3/25 to and from: Atlanta; Huntsville, AL; Savannah, GA; and Louisville, KY. April 1st service starts to and from Chattanooga, TN; Shreveport, LA; Asheville, NC; Columbia, SC and Orlando. Hurry and book between 1/18-1/23 for $49 one way discounted rates to new destinations. Wal-Mart will be adding two locations in our local area. The Niceville location is well on its way and the building is expected to be completed in September or October. No opening date as been released for this John Sims Parkway location. The site offers additional commercial parcels with no confirmed tenants announced. The Santa Rosa Beach location is planned for the intersection of U.S. Highway 98 and West Hewett Road in Phase 1 of Topsail West. The project includes additional plans for for shops, restaurants and other businesses. Estimated opening is at least a year away.
