Destin Commons IMAX to open February 4

After several months of delays, Rave Motion Pictures at the Destin Commons will unveil the new IMAX Theater February 4th with the premiere of the 3D action thriller “Sanctum” .    Several films in the IMAX format are scheduled for this spring and summer leading into the release of the new Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean installments.   IMAX Theater ticket prices will be higher than regular ticket prices.  Enjoy the show.


Vision Airlines Making NWF Regional Hub

Tuesday, January 19, 2011 Vision Airlines formally announced their decision to use NWF Regional Airport as its base for commercial fights to and from 19 cities.   The regional economic impact expected to include 4,200 jobs and $160 million in revenue.     New flights starting 3/25  to and from: Atlanta;  Huntsville, AL; Savannah, GA; and Louisville, KY.  April 1st service starts to and from Chattanooga, TN; Shreveport, LA; Asheville, NC; Columbia, SC and Orlando.    Hurry and book  between 1/18-1/23 for $49 one way discounted rates to new destinations.    Welcome to the Emerald Coast Vision Airlines – We are thrilled you are here! 


Vision Airlines Adds Additional Routes for NWF Regional Airport

On Monday, January 17, 2011,Vision Airlines announced additional routes for The NWF Regional Airport.  New Service introductory rates starting at $49 each way if tickets purchased by 1/23.   New areas include: Asheville, NC  -  Altanta, GA – Baton Rouge, LA – Birmingham, AL – Chattanooga, TN – Columbia, SC – Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Ft. IMAX coming to Destin Rave

We are thrilled learn from today’s NWF Daily News Showcase section,  that  The Rave in Destin Commons will retrofit one of the large auditorium theaters to create IMAX.    No confirmed opening date has been scheduled according to Rave Motion Picture VP of Marketing, Jeremy Divine,  “but we are hoping to have it ready for the release of  Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows, Part 1 scheduled to open on November 19th.”   The IMAX experience offers a floor to ceiling, wall to wall screen with enhanced sound and digital picture.  A truly unique and wonderful way to enjoy a film.

25th Annual Gate To Gate Memorial Day Run/Walk

This year marks the 25th Annual Gate to Gate Memorial Day 4.4 mile run/walk on Eglin Air Force Base.  Events start at 7:30 am Monday May 31st and are open to the public.  There will be a staggered start at the Child Development Center on Eglin AFB.  Free kids run, after party & awards presentation to follow.   Register online: www.active.com – Online registration closes 8 am, May 28th.  Come and celebrate Eglin’s 75th Anniversary!


Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport Grand Opening
